I have been editing two maps in the browser for a client to show them how to layout complex maps of client contacts within a large organisational structure. I had a parent map well laid out linked to a child map (which had also been made to look a lot better) and back.

I switched to Files view in the browser for both maps. I wanted to check that my edits had been saved. Is there a save button in the browser?

I opened one map in MIndManager 2012 to see how it looked there and its was in the same state as an hour ago. Aaaaggggghhhhhh!

In the files view the maps show Date Modified as 10:07 and 10:10pm. But now it was 23:00 when I stopped editing! When I open the maps they are not as I left them 10 minutes ago but as they were an hour ago.

Please show me how I can recover those edits quickly so I can show the client tomorrow morning?

The File button on the left does not produce a ribbon or dropdown.

But I may have found a reason why. The File dropdown does not work in Firefox 10.0.2. It does in Chrome 17.0.963 and IE .

Why is there no warning to save before switching to File view?

I think its Firefox overload problem. I had two Firefox windows open in many pages open in a few tabs. When I close down the most loaded Firefox window the File dropdown works in the window.

So you can blame Firefox or me but I still think there should be a warning before switching views in connect if edits have not been saved.

Catalyst used to behave similarly. You would go down levels in menus but it wouldn't display the final dropdown.

Giving Chrome a go this morning. When I click Files I am asked whether I want to save. Did not happen yesterday in Firefox.

I have four tabs open in Chrome. A Files window and 3 different maps. The File drop down no longer opens for one map which I would like to save. It's available in the other two!

How do I save my edits?

Closing other tabs. Only one tab open but File drop down still not working.

Clicking Files. No do you want to save message. EDITS LOST!

Starting again!
