Be nice to have a 64 bit MindManager to:
- Work with 64 bit Office
- Avoid out of memory warnings on a 64 bit machine.
Appears MindManager can hit the 32 bit 1.6GB/process memory limit even with a fairly small map esp if lots of Outlook topic links involved.
My 328 topic 268kb map with about 50 Outlook links starts out at 900mb but can use all the 1.6GB allocatable memory in a session. The machine has 64 bit OS and 5-10GB free memory so not a system issue.
A 64 bit MindManager would avoid that problem (at least until all the machine memory was actually used up).

Mindjet is making a huge mistake by thinking 64 bit integration is not a priority. I will certainly not upgrade again until this issue is resolved.

I am looking for other mind mapping software that supports 64bit office. maybe Mindjet has failed to realize that it is very easy to use a mind map as a real-time project visualization for people, tasks, objectives, resources, etc. Without the 64bit integration to office... it is just too cumbersome.
The lack of support of 64 bit office has been in the community for a very long time now... seems over a year.... and still no commitment from MJ on when they will support it

All of my office computers are running 64bit windows and office programs... incl MS Office.. now we need to consider downgrading to office 32bit just for MindJet users? Can anyone advice why is it so difficult to support 64bit?

Switching to 64 bit and supporting both 64 bit and 32 bit would essentially double the workload for any company. If the software uses 3rd party components, the third party components will need to be upgraded, replaced or custom built if no versions exist. It would require coding the same new feature twice at times --- one for the 64 bit version and the other for the 32 bit version. It would also require significantly more time to test.

Yep and more of the same; no 64 bit support and yet it seems more and more notebooks are coming native with 64 bit for no additional cost and there seems to be no slowdown to that trend.
Mindjet- Get on the ball with this; even a patch or limited support or hell, even an upgrade for $49 or something to support the cost of the infrastructure changes.
I am constantly hit by requests from Mindjet to upgrade to features that frankly, I do not need and see very little value in, but the thing that many are asking for seems to be totally ignored. This is the driver behind my recent Google search for "mind mapping software 64 bit". Wonder why I am looking for such a thing?
The real shame here is that in general, MindJet has an outstanding product; there are just a few things that are either a total non-priority or the management is just not listening to the requests of the customers.

I would mind a lot less had I been warned about this in promotional materials or data sheets. 2 years is more than adequate to have brought in 64-bit office support.
