The iPhone app has an issue with the current release where at the screen where you sign up or login to the application, there is a choice between different URL's at the top of the screen. As long as https://connect.mindjet.com is selected, the application will work fine. If any of the others is selected, login and sign up will not work. The correct one is selected by default, so as long as you don't accidentally change it, you should be fine.
