add Topic/Sub-Topic/Task and Add Progress Marker at Creation Time (like outline, hit return, includes checkbox))

Seems like this should be possible... I do a lot of IT consulting projects, where order of tasks is important, and sometimes topics/tasks are left open and need to be returned to before moving on to the next step.

Would like to set default for a Map or Topic/Sub-topics below, that automatically adds Progress Marker at 0% Completed. It is quite time consuming to need to go to the ribbon (or task pane) and manually add Progress Marker for each new Topic/Sub-Topic/Task. Yet I can't seem to get this to work automatically.

Running the latest MJ on my Desktop 11.3.305 and on the Web, tried both. Have rollups enabled, that seems to work, but only for manually set Progress Markers.

Am I missing something obvious? Hope this makes sense. Would really appreciate any ideas.
(Long time MM user, back to 2002, but can't figure this one out).

P.S. Tried MJ Tasks, but it doesn't work for this purpose as I'm not interested in only seeing
what remains to be done, but need to see the List in Context, be able
to review steps, see what's missing, copy groups of topics to subsequent
Phases. These become resources that can be used with additional clients down the road. GAANT possible, but more complex than I actually need, and would like to just do it in the MJ (MM) interface.

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to achieve, but if you want new topics to have a progress marker set at 0% you could just save one set up this way (and with whatever else you want) as a map part. Then all you need to do to add it to the map is click on it in the Map Parts pane.

You can also save a topic with task roll up as a map part.

Our MindManager extension: OPTi-Add-ins has a new feature with version 2.0 called "Quick Task".

This feature has a default settings option for adding a Task through the "Insert Quick Task" command located on the OPTi-Add-ins menu AND the MindManager "Home" ribbon menu under the "Tasks" group.

You can select the default attributes that you want the Task to have when inserted in the "OPTi-Add-ins Options".

The Quick Task attributes can be added to the currently selected Topic(s) or added as a new Sub-Topic to the currently selected Topic depending on whether you click the top half of the command or access the drop down options from the lower half of the command.

This may hep achieve at least some of what you are trying to do.

You can find more details on OPTi-Add-ins and other MindManager add-ins on our website:

Olympic website:

OPTi-Add-ins is available for MindManager 2012, Mindjet 11 and MindManager 14 and is available in English, French and German language
