How to work with right-to-left languages in Mindmanager?
I do not master eg Arabic, but now and then I need to copy some Arabic texts into a mindmap. It becomes a mess. I searched the forums and learned the issue was raised already more than 7 years ago. There was a workaround suggested, however, it did not work. Has there been any progress in this field?

To work with arabic you need several things done.

  1. Do you have a Windows or MacOS system that is localized for arabic, and preferably a keyboard that can handle the characters.
  2. Do you have activated the character set for this arabic text in your system
  3. Some minor, but sometimes important extra 's that need to be done also
  4. Is the software localized for arabic text.
The first 3 things you have to take care of by yourself.

nr 4 is done by most software suppliers based on the market demand.
MindManager has done localization for several languages - see image - based on the number of licenses, etc. etc. A new language is normally added via the sales channel, most often  a local distributor, who co-invests.

Thank you, Ary.

1-3 I have to study this futher.

Regarding 4, IMHO the only requirement is: handle right-to-left texts in the right way.

After localizing many applications in the past I know it is always more complicated than that. I do remember demonstrating freshly localized software on the University of Minerals and Petrol in Bahrein and still turn red by the thought of it.

For that reason I leave it to the current developersteam and the market oppotunities Mindjet finds in the arabic markets
