Not hard and fast limits, but generally it's best to try and keep maps you'll be working with on mobile under 5MB. Aside from actual size, complex maps with hundreds or thousands of nested subtopics can sometimes be hard to render on mobile devices.

Thanks. But I have 15MB+ mindmaps presumably because I include a lot of images. But that's what I need in order to solve this application. Rendering time is pretty good so far, but I am more concerned about getting a corrupted file given the amount of time I've put into it.

And I correct that if I mail myself periodic updates, I can always go back to the most recent good one by putting the file in Dropbox and opening?

We did refactor the app to be able to handle maps with a lot of images when we introduced the Create Map via Camera feature, so it's great to hear it's handling larger maps, but you're probably pushing the limits of the app at that size.

I wonder--if you have a Dropbox account, why would you need to email yourself updates? I'm probably missing something in your workflow. In the Shameless Plug Dept.: You could also use Mindjet Files, and use the versioning feature to avoid potential corruption.

In any case, you're best off with a map of that size to do frequent saves, to ensure you don't lose any work.
