Auto Save not working & lost maps!!!

Twice I have lost files after committing a lengthy amount of work on the files. The autosave function does not work - I am using a Mac Book Pro with Lion OS X. This is very frustrating. In this scenario, the file tab freezes and does not respond to clicks. Please look into this.

I find this as well, however file menu only hangs when I use more than one instance of Mindjet (e.g. if I have opened a file in a new tab using "open file in new window"). The file menu seems to always function on the first tab/window.

I cannot comment on the autosave feature, although this too seems to have stopped working since the "upgrade" to Mindjet Vision.

Sometimes, perhaps associated with a network signal fall, I can't acces the save option on the menu, but still I can move anything I want, without been able to save it.
By the way I'm using google chrome, I heard you had problems with Chrome on Catalyst aswell.

I don't see a save option on the menu (Mindjet Android tablet). Yesterday I lost an hour of notes at a workshop, and I'm wondering how this happened. Shouldn't the map have been auto-saved in my tablet files?

Can you give me a little more information about what happened? Did the application crash on you or did you simply exit out of the map or the app? Any information would be helpful. Thank you so much Anisa.

I am finding the same issues as described here. It has happened for me in the android app as well when as using the internet interface (in fact, it just happened). It happens in a variety of ways. Just now, for example, I was using the web gui, and I had made some additions to a sub-category, including color changes for the child topics, etc., and then had to take a break for about 45 seconds. I locked my screen and then when I cam back, all of the changes I had just made were gone.

Using the android app, I have found a number of time that I will be out and about, and I will take notes on a map, Later, I notice that on my mindjet software, the notes and updates are not there. I go back to my android, and sure enough, nothing I had done remains.

I am excited about the potential of mindjet (ESPECIALLY if it someday supports 64-bit Outlook), but these types of issues cause me to slow down a bit on that excitement. Are there settings I am not using that I should have set?

Try refreshing the Browser Tab when you first open it.

You posted 9 months ago and I just experied the exact same yesterday with my ipad app using the cloud feature... Not gooooood mindjet ...

Can we go back to manual save.. this is just plain frustrating. I have this on my IPad version and I'd rather save files manually in anycase! Your adding something for convenience has turned a great product to rubbishin one easy move.

I agree. I also prefer a manual save. I also lost notes from a workshop last week. And a few minutes of notes I should have been taking, just trying to figure out where everything went.

I just lost my updates for the 2nd time. I Click on the save icon and moments later i close MM2012.
Went back later, to the cloud and found no updates.

Thank you for your post. It sounds like you are making your edits in MindManager 2012 (desktop). When you save the map, are you saving it to Mindjet Connect or are you saving it to MindManager 2012? Are the changes reflected in MM2012 when you open the same map?

I opened it up form MindJet Connect using the MM2012 made some changes and just clicked on the the save icon. I would think it would have saved it back to the location i opened it from. Nothing was saved on my computer.

I am also using the latest version of Mindjet on my android tablet. I have lost an update on which i worked more than 5 hours. is there a way to get my things back? do you keep any temp or cache file anywhere to get my things back?

I also lost my work twice. See other topic.

I had open Mindjet connect in more than 1 tab in the Safari browser assuming that if you save, it is saved in the cloud anyway.
Although Mindjet Connect confirms after manual saving, nothing of the editing was saved (4-5 hours of work).

I work on an almost new MacBook Pro, with OS Mountain Lion 10.8 and used Safari 6.0 as browser.

I think I found out what the problem was:
I had opened the map simply by double-clicking it and then editing it.
Today I first navigated to "Files", then checked-out the file and then edited it. After editing, saving, closing I checked the file back in and now all editing is properly saved!
Yeeha!

In my scenario, also with MacBook Pro, I did not experience any windows freezing.

I've noticed two scenarios.

On the iPad app you have to let the sync finish completely before doing anything else or you risk losing data. I wish you guys would rework that part of the app.

On Connect via the web (IE) I closed a map (File/Close) and lost changes. There was no prompt asking if I wanted to save. For safety I now choose Save myself before closing. Again I'm hoping you guys could make that more bullet proof.

Now none of my maps are saving. I've lost a ton of data. OK, I'm out of Connect. Let me know when you get it up and running.

Same basic problem as those above. I spent 2 hours working on a mindjet diagram, then my internet blipped out for about 2 minutes, and during that time, mindjet decided to log me out, and all my work is lost. I'm going back to paper and pen now. At least I can spank the dog if he eats notes I left out, when mindjet dies, all I find is a 9 month old thread of everyone else having the same problem as I am.

Mindjet developers, stop whatever it is you are doing right now and focus 100% on NEVER LOSING YOUR USERS WORK. Nothing drives users away faster than wasting their time.

Happened to me as well.
paying $360 to lose 3 hours of work - no one in their right mind will use this crap.
fix cloud or dont sell it - i want my 3 hours of work back.
