Awkward Relationship Lines anchoring

it seems when adding "relationship lines" MM decides where the connection should originate from, but it never seems like a good choice. and when trying to move it it sometimes does not give you the option to place it in the appropriate starting point or an end point that i desire... my issue is specifically with "concept maps" but i think it might be the case with all maps...

i was wondering if someone has best practices for placing relationship lines and if there is a way to make the originating/end point more customizable on where i can anchor it on a concept topic....

here is a screen shot. MM decided to place it on the furthest side from my concept (left side)... when i try to drag it to the right side it places it to the bottom side...

You should be able to drag a relationship line on 4 points: the 2 yellow ones and the two red anchor points. If you drag one of the red anchor points, you should be able to slide to any of the four sides of a topic?

thanks, i have experimented with it.  i choose "Create VPC" then selected "relationship lines" and shoose "Create a SuNet for VPC", it gave me the first image, completely on the other side of the topic... when i drag the red to its proper location (to the right side of "Create VPC" topic) i get the 2nd image...

i dont think relationship lines are working correctly, this is within "Concepts map"2

While you can attempt to make a line straight by dragging the red connection points, it's often easier to start by dragging the yellow markers first. Doing this will usually straighten the line and move the connection points to more appropriate locations at the same time.

thanks Alex.  I know how to drag and which ones do what (red/yellow).   My issue is "How the relationship lines connect by default"  if my topic is to the right side of my current topic.  why is MM placing the anchor point on the left side of my initial concept????  see first pic.

Why is solving this "problem" done by having to manually drag the points with almost every relationship connection i make, mostly in concept maps...  if i choose a topic and select relationship lines, and my next choice is the topic to its immediate right. then the anchor point should be right side of 1st topic and left side of second topic (a straight line connecting the 2 topics)

for some reason, MM decides to place it on the complete opposite side and create this weird relationship line for no reason (see first pic), which i then have to drag to the right side BUT it anchors to the bottom (see 2nd pic)

That seems to be unusual behaviour.

When I add concept topics by clicking on the Quick Add tab on the green frame for the selected topic and dragging the line out in the direction I want, it seems to consistently stay in a straight line. If I drag it up or down it changes plane but when I let go the relationship line behaves as I would expect - likewise if I insert a floating topic and add the relationship line afterwards.
