This problem can be caused by a few things.

The first and most obvious thing is that you must have Word installed and fully activated - ideally both Word and MindManager should be recent versions. If that's the case the most common issue is that you have incompatible versions of MindManager and Word installed.

Both MindManager and Word need to be 32-bit, or both 64-bit - it doesn't matter which, as long as they are the same. MindManager should detect what version of Word is used and install the correct version but occasionally this doesn't happen. If this is the case you may need to contact MindManager support and ask them for the download of the correct version.

Finally, you need to check that the Word Export and Import add-in is activated. Check that there is a tick in the box next to this Under File > Options > Add-ins.

In a small number of cases export may still not work. If that's the case you could try doing a complete uninstall and reinstall of MindManager and Office. If this doesn't work you should contact MindManager support for advice.

If you need to export documents urgently there is another alternative. The MAP add-in for MindManager from Olympic Limited has a more sophisticated Word export facility which uses a different method and is not affected by Word-MindManager compatibility issues.

Hi Alex,

Seems like I am having the same problem as Lusako is having.  Based on the very helpful information you provided, I can see one of my issues.  My Word 365 install is 64-bit, but for some reason (I don't remember choosing this), MindManager is 32-bit.  So the Word Export function built-in to MindManager seems to be out.  Fortunately, I do have MapX2 from Olympic Limited, but it also errors out with a long error message.  Should I contact them to resolve this?  Thanks.

Yes - do contact Olympic directly, and apologies to you and Lusako. I've just realised I made a mistake in my original comment. I meant to refer to the WordX2 add-in from Olympic Limited, and not MAP.
