Can I compress (reduce resolution to e.g. 100dpi) the images embedded in a map?

A colleague sent me a mindmap that has several embedded pictures and results in a file of > 25 MB. Is there a way to reduce the file size. Some pictures seem to be quite hi-res (and a scaled down). Can these be reduced in resolution? Thank!

This is possible, but only with external graphics tools.

Also, if the images are embedded in the Topic Notes you might want to try to link to the images instead of embedding the images (right click on image > choose 'format image' > check the 'link to image' option)

Finally, it might help a bit to increase the compression on the map file ('file' > 'options' > 'save' > 'compression on saving') . However, increasing the compression ratio will increase map saving time and the amount of effect depends on the type of embedded images (some images are already higly compressed).
