Cannot Print Notes

Hi!

I'm trying to print notes and following the instructions on the help for this topic, but when I right click the note or use the other option of File tab->print, the "print notes" and the "quick print notes" options remain grey i.e. not available to use. What am I doing wrong?>

Print Notes from Help Section

You can quickly print the Notes for any single topic or print all the Notes on the map.

  1. Do one of the following:

  • Right-click on the topic's Notes icon.

  • Click the File tab, and then click Print.

  1. Click either:

  • Quick Print Notes (sends the notes for the current topic directly to the default printer)

  • Print Notes to print the notes for the selected topic or all  topics (displays the Print dialog so you can adjust the Print options).

Thanks
Chunmun

Just tested it in MM vs 15 and both options work fine.

(my default printer is Cute PDF so I don't see something coming out of the fysical paperprinter)

Thanks, but still not working. This is really frustrating and I have spent all morning trying to resolve this. I might just stop using MM altogether for now.

It may have something to do with Mixed environments like WIndows is 64 bits, Office is 32 bits and MM is one of both. They have to be in sync. I use windows 7 and all is 32 bits

Thanks again. I'm on Windows 7 with 64 bits. Would you know how to resolve this for a mixed environment? I also tried logging a ticket, but that too was unsuccessful ! I've put in far too many hours into this now and it's painful to see all the work going down the drain.

Check if you have the 64 bits version of MindManager 15 There are two versions so be really sure.
Check if you use 64 bits version of Office.

If not, be sure you get them in sync with your WIndows 7

Don't give up ;-)

Hi Ary, thanks for your continued support and for the very thoughtful prompt. Indeed, both are out of sync as OS is windows 7 enterprise with 64 bits and MM v15 is 32 bits. How does one get the 64 bit version of MM15? I doubt that out IT services will allow me to switch over to 32 bit office.

The best way is to go to the Olympic-Limited site It is easier to find it there than on the Mindjet download area.
(scroll down and select the 64 bit version of MindManager for download)

http://www.olympic-limited.co.uk/downloads/

you will find the MindManager installers at the foot of the page.

Hope this helps.

Good morning, I just tested this with my version of MindManager 15 and both options work well. I use a 32 bit version of MindManager on a 64-bit machine. I'm going to forward this thread to our support team to have them contact you when they get into the office.

Chunmun,

To Print Notes in MindManager, The Microsoft Word Add-in must be installed and enabled.

To use our MS Office add-ins, MindManager and MS Office must be the same bit-version (32-bit/32-bit or 64-bit/64-bit).  The installer for MindManager 15 should of installed the same bit-rate version that matches Office on your system but sometimes this is not the case depending on how Office was installed.

To resolve this error, please do the following:
1. Uninstall MindManager 15 through the Control Panel.
2. Open an Office application such as MS Word and go to the About screen and check whether you have the 32-bit or 64-bit version installed.
3. Download the corresponding 32-bit or 64-bit Admin build of MindManager here - http://www.mindjet.com/support/product-resources/channel-download-library/#mm15
4. Within the Zip file, run the MindManager 15 Admin MSI.

Then start MindManager and check if  the option to Print Notes is enabled.

Best.
Marian

Thanks Marian. I've sent your feedback to our IT team as all downloads need to be approved by them. Hopefully, all should be resolved shortly. I'll let you know how I get along. Best, Chunmun
