Are these maps stored on the local storage on the iPad or on Mindjet Files? I'm not quite sure because of the 'Sansital'-header above the files?

All maps are located on my iPad. The problem started after I arranged the maps in new folders

Peter,

Are you able to email the files from within the App? Also, can you try to rename one of the affected files and then try to open it?

Hi Peter,

How are you moving the file? Did you mean you encounter an issue after moving the file to another folder?

Peter,

We are continuing to investigate this issue. Please do not attempt to remove the app as doing so will also delete all files that are stored locally.

If you no longer need these files or have backups stored elsewhere, please proceed to uninstall and then reinstall the App.

Getting the same error when trying to open maps from my dropbox account.   These maps opened fine last week, so Peter's rearranging of the files may not have been a factor.   The iPad app does show that it auto-updated (to 3.6) last week, so that is the most likely culprit.   I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app, restarted the device, and (via PC) saved the map under a different name.

Additionally, I have been successfully able to open other files in the Dropbox folder via the iPad.

Adam,

If you only have file stored in your Dropbox account, please try to uninstall and then reinstall the App.

Didn't work. Tried a second time and rebooted the iPad before reinstalling the app. Still did not work. I also tried: creating a new map on the iPad, saving it to Dropbox, closing it and reopening it successfully, then opening it up on the PC and making edits. Once I did so, the iPad was no longer able to open the file.

Adam,

Thanks for the update. Please provide which version of MindManager you are using on your PC and the Operating System.

I have the same problem.
Ipad air, Ios 7.1.1
Files were opening fine until this last update.
Have deleted the app and added it back - did not help.
Interestingly enough if I select the file in the DropBox app and say to open it in Mindjet that works - but not directly opening the file from within Mindjet.

Very frustrating as this means my workhorse tool is essentially crippled on my ipad.

got it working by removing DropBox app on the ipad, and also removing + recreating Dropbox service link inside the MindJet app

Got the same problem:
Cannot open map
Unknown error.
Tried opening a file from a Dropbox folder.

Played around a bit, and found out the cause.

The path to the file contained non-latin characters. In my case it was cyrillic, in case of the author of this thread it seems to be the a with the round above.

Renaming the path in the Dropbox makes it possible to work with the file.

Strangely, the problem only occurs for non-latin characters in the path name, file name may contain non-latin characters just fine.

So it seems like a reproducible bug, isn't it?

Any possibilities on having this resolved?

I think this could be related to the type of Mindjet Files account you're using. Using a free account is limited, does not allow the creation of folders and will throw the error message as shown in your screenshot. Using a premium account, you're able to create folders and this will work from the app as well.

It looks like the error message could have been made a bit clearer :)
