If I were to uninstall the English version and the install the German version will my settings be retained? For example:

- Quick Access Toolbars
- Package Folders
- Option settings e.g. User name, email address etc, saving settings, etc.
- macros
- Add ins

Or will the new language installation be reset to default?

Hi Andrew, we only support English on an English OS and German on a German OS. Switching languages may work but it isn't supported (or tested) so we don't know the answer to your question. I'd assume the settings wouldn't be retained. It would likely be safest to fully uninstall the current version before installing the other language.

I did some testing of the various scenarios using a virtual machine and MindManager 11.3.305 in English and German.

If you just install the German version over the existing English version (without uninstalling) this will 'update' the existing installation to the German version and retain all the settings you've mentioned in the opening post.

If you uninstall the English version before installing the German version all custom settings will be lost.

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main topic, so I created a new topic to continue the discussion. Please reference the new topic here: Writing in Hebrew?
