Connect login works through web, not through application

I can log into connect.mindjet.com just fine (web site), but when I try to log in through the Mindjet application's Connect option I get the message "MindManager cannot sign you in because you are not associated with any Mindjet Connect Accounts." Any ideas?

It looks like you are using MindManager version 8 for Windows. Is that accurate? If that is the case, Mindjet Connect integrated with MindManager 2012. This is why you are getting the error message. If you are interested in upgrading to MindManager 2012, please let me know and I would be happy to put you in contact with the appropriate individual. Thank you!

Interesting. I found a video that clearly shows MM8 logging in and using Connect. I'm also wondering why there is a whole toolbar dedicated to MM8 if it was never intented to be used.

I would love to hear the explanation as to why MM8 has an entire toolbar wtih the following Connect options that are apparently no longer supported:

Create Account
Sign In
Manage Account
Invite Users to Account
Mindjet Connect Options

Because honestly, bait and switch comes to mind. Car analogy: I buy a new car and it has a stereo clearly present on the dashboard with all the options, but when I get around to trying to use it nothing works and I am then told that in order to actually get music to come through I will have to upgrade to the newest model. Now why would I give another penny to that car company?

I apologize for any confusion that my explanation may have caused. Unfortunately we stopped supporting a product called Connect that shares the same name as an entirely new product. Although they have the same name, the Connect that you see on the bottom of your toolbar in MindManager 8 has no relation to Connect Business or Connect Free Edition that we recently released in September of 2011.

Connect login works through web, not through application.
I have just created a Connect account and I have Mindmanager 2012.
When I start Mindmanager (having entered the login details for Connect) it says "Signing In" in the bottom left corner, then "Connecting" for quite a while, then "offline"
How do we fix this?

I think that the work network blocks certain ports, as it works fine at home. Can you please give me the details of how the desktop and the cloud sync so I can pass it to the IT department to get a work-around?
