Connecting maps without clouds

Hello, is it possible to somehow connect more maps with themselves and let the master map always recheck that connected maps which are drawn in the master are up to date. Without cloud. Thank you.

Extended description: Would like to have one master map with connected maps saved by different users (responsible for specific project parts) and stored on our servers (= no cloud). Every time I would start the master map ut would checked the hyperlinked maps and would update them in the master.

Unfortunately that is not possible. You can link to other maps, but the updates are not shown in the mastermindmap (you have to open each linked mindmap).
There was an add-in 'MapLinker' that did all the things you described.
Perhaps can Mindjet migrate this MapLinker to MindManager 2012?

Esther is correct. I'm going to switch this from a question to an idea to see if others in the community are looking for the same type of capability. Thanks for the feedback!

You can use the Linked Map View to Combine All the linked maps in the master map to a new snap shot map of the total set of maps.

It's a static map. Edits need to made in the original maps and Combine All to be repeated to get a revised overview.

Hello again,

thanks for all the answers, the tool MapLinker is obviously (as you already said) outdated, but the answer from Andrew is actually very helpful and I will try to implement it :)

map linker REBORN!

I love the idea of map linker so much!

I am a student that have to deal with 100s of drugs, investigation techniques,
diseases etc, if not 1000s.

I dont want the redundancy of those things, and they cant be a statistic duplicate because every part of my mind map have to be up-to-date.

I need to merge lot's of maps into a single one and then analyze!

FINALLY:
I dig out the map linker for mindmanager 7/8 (seems is 7?),
which I have put aside for 1.5 years?,
then I installed it. Nothing changed in my MM9.

Now, in MM9's developer tab, I add the macros myself,
add the command into developer's "menu".

The "utitlity" function of map linker doesnot work,
but else are seems to be OK.

The map parts WILL automatically update after close-and-re-open of the main map.
I am still testing it.

PS: don't "maplink" to another tree that contains itself as a hyperlink,
otherwise an indefinite loop will occur when u update the map.

PS: what maplinker does is the reverse,
u change the content of the small map,
it automatically update in the large-master map.

But if you edit the large-master map,
the results are gone, or you make duplicates.
