How can I copy and paste subtrees from one mind map into a totally different mind map using Mindjet Vision (Flash)? Regular copy and paste does not work for this.

Unfortunately, this is not possible as each map is limited to it's own "sandbox" - You can copy within a map, but not to another map using the online product. The only way to do this would be to use the Desktop products while connected to Mindjet Files.

Hi thanks for the fast reply. That is really a huge feature that you are lacking.

So let me get this straight, I have to buy the desktop version, and using that I can connect to MindJet Vision and copy and paste between maps, right?

Hi Jim,

I'm switching this over to a suggestion and will forward this to the Product Manager to get his feedback. I wish I had another solution for you but the Web app is limited in what operations it can handle.

Thank you... I understand you have technical limitations due to the Flash platform, but this still seems like an important feature to be lacking. At least you should make the desktop version available for free to users who are paying for a yearly subscription to MindJet Vision, I think.

Hi Jim,
This is not possible with our current technology, but it is possible with other technology. We are considering moving to the new technology that would make this possible. If we do, this is definitely something we would like to implement. Thank you for your feedback

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm still trying to get this straight though. Although we already paid $600 for a 1 year subscription to MindJet Vision, I need to buy MindManager for an additional $349 and use it to connect to the mindmaps stored on your server in order to copy and paste between mind maps???

Also, can I copy and paste between mind maps using the bundled iPad app? That should surely allow you to escape any limitations of the Flash platform.

Hi Jim, You can copy and paste between maps on the iPad/iPhone app - double tap and hold (Copy) and then double tap and hold (Paste) into the new map. I'm sorry I don't have any other solutions to offer you here.

Thanks,
Terry

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
copy & paste topics between maps on web.

I am using Mindjet ProjectDirect and cannot figure out how to copy and paste topics between maps. What is the trick to doing this?

I can copy / paste within the same map fine, but not across maps in the same browser session. I have tried the maps in a new tab and changing maps in the existing tab, but either one paste is not enabled.

Thanks.
