Damaged MMAP file needs repair in Mindmanager Mac Version 9

I have MindManager for Mac version 9. A file I worked on for a week is now much smaller, with less of the original information on it. It also has a very black and white look, none of the colors of the original. I can still see the original structure in the file preview. Is there a way to repair a damaged mmap file?
Would like to get my original file back, worried it might happen again....

Just tried to IMPORT the map from XMind (free version) and I got the following error message:
"Invalid byte 2 of 3-byte UTF-8 sequence."
So the file is corrupt in some way, would like to know how to repair it.

I also created a brand new file and after inputing two topics and trying to save it, it crashed. :-(

In order to best assist you, please open a ticket with our support team. Have you received any solutions to your problem?
I am having the same issues here as well.

The problem with opening a support ticket is that Mind Jet do not always provide the solution here on this forum.
One would think that this would save them a lot of time & money buy providing solutions here on the forum, because the is more likelihood that an issue/problem shared here is being experienced by many others.

SUPPORT TICKETS DO NOT SHARE THE SOLUTION!

Same issue here!
Plus sharing a map with PC guys is impossible due to XML errors, and it happens all the time since a year.
Plus impossible to export to word or Pages.
Plus....
What are you doing? Support was contacted a long long time ago. Guess what? No answer at all! Obviously 9.5 did not change the situation at all!

In regards to posting solutions on the community, we typically need to gather additional information on a case by case basis that is best tracked and documented by opening a support ticket. Often times, a solution that may work for one person does not work for another due to different operating systems, MindManager versions, etc. This is why we do not often post solutions to support cases on the community.

All of these cases are still not solved up to now. Don't waste your time to tell me you're working on it, you're not! Act with a release that solve file corruption and other export issues!

But surely you can perform an aggregate of the "same" issues posted on this forum and at the very least send out an email to Mac users, or update your Q&A's to reflect the major similar issues being face here.
My point is that most issues here about MM and and specific OS version, with very repeatable issues being experienced.

Unless the software is so badly written that it is producing errors on a targeted spree!

Also some forum customers have also reported that your support tickets system does not provide solutions, with delays going into months on some occasions.
From my prospective that is one of the reasons why I use the forum, because at least maybe some one can help me.

Relying on mindjet is a waste of time.

I don't know whether you realize just how much Mindjet is costing your customers!
We lost 5 days of detailed brainstorming and Business Analysis work because of Mindjet.
We will never get this back, and are having to work evenings and this weekend just to redo our business strategy. Most of the inspired input will never be gotten back!

If we could sue we would have but that would be even more expense for a small operation like ours.

I have over 21 yrs software/web development & Business/Systems analysis experience, worked for over 16 years in the Telecoms, Banking & accounting industry and I can honestly say that I have never come across a company as customer-ignorant like Mindjet!

For example, the corrupted file has somehow managed to be transferred to all the backed up copies with the same name. Our last saved file was 25th July. We tried to go back the last 20 days using OS X Timemachine, but all copies are corrupted. That is just bizarre because from the first week of July we have saved the file each day, come back the next day, opened it, added to it, saved it using the current day e.g. "filename-date".
So how can all copies be corrupted.

We decided to open all the other MM files within our project and 5 are corrupted.

But a lot of our hard work is lost.
Getting some senior manager to call me does not provide us with a solution.

I am not criticizing Mindjet because I have nothing better to do. Nothing would please me more than to praise Mindjet, but I cannot.

1 - Your Mac version is badly and woefully written!
2 - Your customer support is non-existant!
3 - The solutions you suggest do not solve problems that just materialize for no apparent reason, and repeatedly!
4 - MM is not what I would now consider a Business Ready and reliable software. The cost to business is too great. To see Mindjet advertising it as Business ready is laughable at best!

We are currently evaluating Buzan's Imindmap 6.

been having a lot of crash issues with minjet on mac version 10.7.4. can't open certain mindmap files with valuable work product.

I have the same problem - with lots of files damaged; it looks like the screenshot...

I am working with MindManager 9 for Mac, Version 9.6.510; when opening the file in MindManager 8 I get the following message: (1169:2010) Ungültiges xml-Zeichen.

Now I hope that the problem will soon be fixed. Have lost a lot of time in my holiday yet - I don ́t know what to do best... please tell me soon.

For saving your work, you can do that:
1) change .mmap to .zip
2) Unzip this file
3) you can see a pdf file, that is your work.

I'm having the same problem - did anyone get a solution? I've opened a ticket with support but they're notoriously slow to reply and my finals are next week. I've got nearly 2,500 mindmaps I need to access quickly. I've managed to open many of them with Dropmind (which I'm really liking - might change) but they're still not 100%. I'm in a panic! Any help would be greatly appreciated.
