Dependent task dates do not update automatically

When increasing the duration of a task which has a finish-to-start relationship with a dependent task, the dependent task's start/due dates change as expected; however, when I decrease the duration of the first task the dependent task doesn't change as expected. Does anyone know how to correct this? Thus far the only way I've found to update the dependent task is to re-enter the type of relationship and the duration, which isn't practical for a large map.

I have noticed the same: only when you increase the duration (enddate) of the first task, the startdate of the second task changes.
When you increase the duration (enddate) of the first task, the startdate of the second task remains the same. Because the start date of the second task is after the finish of the first task.

Another way, besides to re-draw the relationship between the tasks, is to drag the second task in the Gantt view to the correct startdate.

Hi forum,

of course I have the same inconvenience and spend a lot of not valuable time to reposition ALL depending tasks after the one I shortened.

In fact the gantt-functionality of MM12 is nice for a new project - working with this feature is not advisable at the time being.

Question to MindJet: When will this annoying behaviour will be fixed?

Hi Michael,

although shifting this point to be an "idea" is appreciated, it is clear, that this misbehaviour has to be fixed.

There are so many comments on this point, that a voting is not necessary. Just fix this problem.

Best Regards

Axel
