Nice Idea, and ok for content/topics, but how to add icons from one map to the INDEX of another map? You now, I would like use the same formats, same symbols/tags in mor that one map, and I search a way to an efficient workflow, working with different complexe maps.

Again... Nice idea..., but: The problem is another: Our Map is a "Super Project Map", listing a lot of Projects, and in all the linked "Project Maps" we need use the same Icons, markers, formats etc.

This framework is very poverfull; it gives a owerview to the status of all projects, subprojects etc. but we develope this framework to, using new functions from a new Mindmanager version for example...

So, sometimes, we have to add a tag, a symbole or a format to the "Super Project Map". And we search a way to make avaible this modifications in all other normal "Project Maps".

The way, define the modified "Super Project Map" as template first, and to actualize manually all other "Project Maps" does not work, because the Index Elements seems not to be a part of a template...

so.... whats the best way to profite from a customized featcher in one map like customized index elements in more that one map?

Perhaps linking the Super Project Map to all maps using the Map Rollup tool in the Advanced Ribbon will help. I have not tested if customised Index Elements become part of the "working" map.

Thanks for explaining Why you need this. That helps to understand better what your needs are.

Just to be sure... are you really still on MM vs 15 for windows as stated above?

Please try the latest MM vs 2018 (free trial)
Check with some sample maps if parts of your request are already solved.

I do have multiple MindManager versions on my Windows 7 machine and they all work.
The maps are upward compatible, but not always completely downward.

Hitsch, no need to upgrade to a newer version; I think what you need is located under Design > Template Organizer > Marker Lists. This will allow you to save a list of Markers from an existing map and then apply this list of Markers onto another map.

Starting the Template Organizer

Creating a new Marker List from the current map

New Marker List created with a couple of custom Markers

Is this something you could use?

"You can also copy tag and other marker groups in one map and paste them in the marker [map] index of another map." I wrote that originally in response to a similar query three years ago relating to MindManager v15, so it should still work.

Alex, could you explain how to paste the Marker Index into another map's Marker Index?

I've found the Copy Index option:

You can't copy and paste the whole Map Index - I was talking about copying and pasting individual marker groups. Simply right click on the marker group name in the Map Index in the source map, select Copy, then in the destination map select the green plus sign and from the drop-down menu (as shown in your image) click on Paste Marker Group.

Thanks, Mathieu and Alex for Your helpfull inputs,

So, this "Workarounds" helps me, I can work, more and less. I still miss in mind manager a way to standardize such things. There are plenty of examples: since the very first version, Word has been able to manage standard templates in which everything is inside - including customized format templates. Presets on Adobe products that sync across the cloud, not to mention ...

It would be nice, you could put on a user level sets of icons, tags, conditional formats, etc., which are always one available. WITHOUT that one always had to synchronize manually ...

The last open point actually concerns the synchronization of conditional formats. Here I have not found a way to transfer the benefits of this clever and valuable functionality.

Best regards

You can store conditional formats in a library which is available to all maps. While the rules have to be added from the library to each map you can highlight several or all rules and add them in one go.

Yes, thanks, that's right. But added contidional formats from the library was not synchronized; the library seems to be only a container for manually exchange. Using a format from a library is like an import, without link to the source format.
