How to fix a damaged file, at openning it displays: 'parametro no correcto' then it kind of opens and then: Runtime error Program C+++, R6025 , pure virtual funtion call... at accepting, MM8 closes.
Can the file be fixed? How?

Hello Alfredo

Was this map created by a newer version of MindManager, or a version from a different platform? Usually the compatibility with other versions is good, but there might be some specific features that cause problems with an older version of MindManager.

If this is what has happened then you might need to open it with a current version of MindManager and try removing any exotic features until it is compatible with MM8 again. I would guess at something to do with Topic Notes.

The "Parameter is incorrect" message is shown for a wide range of internal errors in MindManager, so it is hard to diagnose from the error message alone.

That's not good :(

I don't know of any guaranteed method, but you could try some of these. Make a copy of the map first, in case things get worse. But if the file is genuinely corrupted then there may be no way to recover it.

1. Try disabling all the add-ins in MindManager 8, then opening the map. If it is a problem with an add-in reading data, this might help.
2. Try installing a trial copy of MindManager 2012, to see if that will read it.
3. Try reading it into another mind mapping application than can import MindManager files.
4. If none of the above helps, try sending a copy to Mindjet support in case they are able to recover it.

Some more ideas... MindManager maps are zip files, and you can rename them to have a .zip extension instead of ..mmap. There are some zip archive repair tools that might be able to repair the file and make it usable again.
