It would be a good idea to improve with the ability to number automatically the activities when you are in a flowchart

I checked with colleagues of MIVAP. http://www.mivap.org/

This is the response:

Nick Duffill:
Re numbering in flow charts - it is difficult to imagine a logical way to number nodes in a network. Numbering in trees is easy but networks will always be "wrong" from some perspective. You could give each node a unique number, but there is little value in the sequence.

Andreas Lercher:
I think it would be ok if you can order the notes in the outline view.
Now the order of the listing is according to the way you created the notes. Switch to the outline view an reorder them.

Hope you can live with these ;-)

I'm using flowchart templates to create process definition documents for RPA implementation. The maps are big and we need to reference the main process steps to aid reference between client, developer and process designer. The creation of the process map is iterative and therefore steps are inserted within a flow as required. Automated numbering as per standard maps would be very useful but not to number in the sequence they were added to the map which would be useless. Why not number the critical path consecutively and then continue numbering additional paths. We could even work with applying a map marker to those steps we want to number.
