How can I freely arrange a "Hauptzweig"? It is driving me crazy and makes MM unusable for me that the program always FORCES me the location of a "Hauptzweig" Why the hack I cannot freely arrange it as in previous versions? I want to switch off this automatic feature!

I have a reason why I want to do it! For example to create space for future notes, etc

Hi Claus. Thanks for the post. What platform are you using? MindManager for Mac or MindManager for Windows? It would also be helpful to know the version as well.

Hi Brittney,

I am using the newest update:

MindManager_10.1.459_DE

and I am on Windows 7 64bit with 8 GByte of ram

With MM 9.1 and 9.2 it was the same problem

Best regards,

Claus

Try holding down the Ctrl and Alt buttons on your keyboard. This will allow you to move your topics freely. I hope this helps!

okay but for reasons this "doubles" than the the topics I have. The moving itself is like I want to have it. But now with every movement I am getting a "copy" of the topic.

Best regards

Hi Claus. You would't happen to be holding down Ctrl, Shift would you? Please let me know.

No, for sure not.

I tried it with a new blank map and just added new topics. As long as I have only 1 topic, no problem, but if I have more topics and moving arround a topic with alt+ctrl than the "old" topic stay at the old positon and I have a new topic. So over time you fill your map with more and more topics.

At least this happens here on my end

I see what you mean. Try holding down just Alt. and moving your topics. Please let me know if this works better for you. Thanks!

Hi - ok now - only with Alt - it works - many thanks!

But this function should be more easy to find or even better it should be the possibility to set this behavior as default. Again this was really driving me crazy in the last years and prevented me from using MM.

Best regards,

Claus
