Has the TaskScore in Mindjet tasks been switched off??

The most important feature of Cohuman -now Mindjet Tasks- is their brilliant feature to provide task scores so the most important task is always on top of your task list.

It even took into account the taks lists of colleagues, which avoids a lot of in-project communications.

For some reason it appears to me that it has been switched off in one of the latest upgrades.

If so.... why. And can you please switch it on again?
Without it there are hundreds of others tools that come into play.

Hi Ary,

Thanks for giving us feedback. It is nice to hear that you liked the old way we prioritized tasks. We did too, that is why we had it that way for the last couple of years.

After surveying and gathering lots of feedback we were finding that the scoring system was hard for many users to understand. The goal of our redesign was to highlight, in a more user friendly way, which tasks we think is most important. The scoring system is still there working behind the scenes to help us identify your "top task". In the next couple of weeks we also plan to create a "sort" feature that will give you the option to sort your tasks in a few different ways, including priority score. We hope this provides the best of both worlds :)

Is there any news on the task score?

We need it urgently.

Mindjet tasks is almost un-useable without it.

I don't need to understand how the scoring is working. As long as it is giving the right results, me and my teammates are happy.

It has been a week now since you made this post as acknowledged.

I discovered that Mindjet tasks is practically unuseable without the return of the cohuman priority scheme.

I have to scroll down to find the task i need or have to first select a projectname and than scroll down (the list is smaller, but I have to rethink what i should do, where before the app suggested my todo's for me.)

When do you switch it on again?
It's URGENT

Any progress on this?

How difficult can it be to switch something ON again?

Hi Ary and Theo,

Thanks for your patience. You can now use our sort feature to sort your lists by priority, alphabetically, by due date or assignee.

Give it a try and send your feedback to me at ben.work@mindjet.com. Thanks!

Thanks for this extra facility. It helps a lot.

I trust the sort on priority means that it is on task score?

I will test in my teams if it also takes the score of my co-workers into account - as it used to -

Can you bring the original sort as an option?

The new sort doesn't do the auto-magically sort and rearrange task as before. I have to click the sort command manually. to make any newly created task sort correctly.

The automated task sort by priority doesn't seem to be functioning properly. Even after sorting by priority, successor tasks can appear higher up on the task list than their predecessors.

I am considering Mindjet Project Director for my organization, and if it wasn't for this flaw with sorting priority it would be the right fit. However, I'll need a tool that gets this right.

Anybody else having this issue? Is there a fix for it in a setting somewhere that I can adjust?

Otherwise, is Mindjet working on a fix for this?

Thanks.

Hi Erik,

Thanks for your feedback. The sort feature is designed to be a one time action not a permanent state. We have built it this way to allow you to easily create tasks in-line on your list. We believe that if we maintained the sort, the feature would be too slow and cause your tasks to move around on your list by themselves in a disorienting way.

Hope this helps!

If you have any other questions you can email me at ben.work@mindjet.com.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for the reply. I can see how a constantly and unexpectedly changing task list would be disorienting, and therefore why the sorting should be a one time action, or at most re-sort on a schedule such as every hour.

However, my question was about a different issue, and that is, when I choose to re-sort my task list by priority, the sorting only seems to minimally take into consideration the predecessor/successor tasks that I specify in your cool drag and drop successor/predecessor feature. Tasks that I specify as predecessor tasks can appear lower on my task list than their successors. This is a problem for us since ideally the sort by priority feature would help my team figure out what to be working on at any given time.

I run a fast-paced cross functional team that works with both hard operational deadlines with short/long-term time horizons as well as long term creative development with softer deadlines. When I assign tasks with deadlines and dependencies to my team, I need those tasks to be placed in the right place on my teams' to-do lists, with some frequency (such as every hour), to optimize the meeting of deadlines across all our projects. Otherwise I will be left calling and emailing them with the schedule of their to-do's, which would defeat the purpose for us of using Project Director.

We are very interested in your product, love the user interface, google docs integration, drag and drop successor/predecessor assignments, task assignment/follower scheme, etc. It has the right mix of simplicity and power for us, but getting the task priority ordering correct - based on schedule and predecessor/successor tasks - will be a critical feature for us to be able to use it.

Is the issue I am having clear? Is this something being worked on, or is this a case of user error?

Thanks.

Hi Erik,

Thanks for the additional info. I am also glad to learn a little about you team and how you use the app, this is very helpful.

In short, the answer to your question may be that our definition of Priority is pretty robust. Not sure how long you have been using the app, but when we evaluate your task list we take multiple things into consideration. Things like activity count, number of followers, and due date might theoretically be able to trump the blocking dependency.

It is also possible you might have found a bug or a flaw in our calculation, but it is hard to know without taking a look at the list.

If you are comfortable adding me to the list temporarily, I will be happy to look at this further with you.
