Greetings!

Please help me to find a way to (temporarily) hide a topic similarity to Hide Slide in Microsoft PowerPoint.
This may be useful when certain topics are still under development.

Thank you.

Hi Andrey.
Click on the top topics that you want to hide, then go to the menu item Called "View" , You'll see the menu items underneath On the icon bar Show/Fade/Hide/Powerful, Click on the Hide Icon and it will hide those topics while they still under construction

Thank you for the suggestion.

Hide command apparently turns on a filter.
How do I temporarily disable the Hide or Fade filter?

You could also consider using tags in topics that are under development or the icons (not finished-finished)
You can use the powerfilter to hide / or show all topics that are finished.
This is the way we do it since many years and you can always unfilter again.
The best part is that you can make a library of filters for later re-use

Great practice!
Is there a way to Fade parent topic and all its siblings at once?

Yes.
Normally you will give the siblings the progress icon and do a task rollup on the maintopics.
So you work botom up.
The result is that the progress icon is shown in maintopic and siblings
If you use that the powerfilter will work on both

Ok.
Last question: how do I fade topics that do not have the 100% done icon?
Shall I define a power filter including 0%, 25%, 50% and 75%?

Ha, it seems that this approach doesn't work with intermediate icons:

Is there a way to do fading with Smart Rules?

You could always filter for topics with the 100% done icon and fade rather than hide all the non-matching topics without using SmartRules.

First, go to File, then select Options and then Filter. Under Filter options tick Fade non-matching topics.

Now go to the Power Filter, tick Task Done under Progress, then click on Show. All non-matching topics should now fade rather than disappear.

You can't make topics fade or hide them directly with SmartRules, but there are some other things you can do with them to achieve interesting effects which are similar. For example, you could create a rule where the trigger is Task Progress and the criterion is Does Not Equal to 100%.

The Effects could be shades of light grey for the topic fill, line and text colours. When the rule is switched on the incomplete topics would still be visible, but would appear to be faded.

I tested SmartRules and experienced its power!

A question about Filter and PowerFilter. I noticed that filter update (after map editing) requires turning off and on. Is there a way to switch automatic filter updates on?
