I had to format the HD an reinstall Windows, and I forgot to copy the ENU folder, which contains the library of images of my maps. I was thinking that all icons and images were lost, but when opening the maps I saw that the icons and images are still there. But they are not in the library folder, and I could not find out where they are. They appear in the maps and in the index, but I can't find them in the icon, images or favorites folders. Also I can't add the images and icons that are in the maps to the folders. I just can see them. How can I add them to the library?

You have really made an error there ;-)

However for the most important images this will work:

You could open a map, select a picture that is inside a topic, click right and select save image.
That way you can recreate your library of images and make them available through the Package Folder function. I am sure you are familiar with that function?

Thanks, Ary! Yes, in the rush I forgot to save the folder with the pictures! I'll be more careful next time!

Your suggestion works with the images, but I have more icons than images in the maps, and if you right click an icon, there isn't the option to save it. One solution is to make a topic in the maps, and put there all icons and images of the map. Then I can copy the topic and paste in a new map. The images and icons will then be available in the index.

Maybe this is an improvement for the next versions of Mindmanager. The possibility of saving every icon and images in the map to the library.

Try this:

  • Create a parent map.
  • Link all the maps that have unique icons in them to it. (Drag and drop from File Explorer)
  • View - Linked Maps - Combine All
  • Design - Template Organiser - Marker Lists - Add New Marker List - From Current Map
You now have a Marker List you can apply to any map.

Try it with 2 or 3 maps.

Thanks very much, Andrew!

It works! Making new marker lists and using them!

I am finishing some studies, and in the next days will be starting a deep study of Mindmanager. It's a wonderful program with so many possibilities and to use them all you need to know them thoroughly. It's a well spent time.

Copy the combined parent map file and change the extension to .zip

Extract the zip folder.

Open the ico subfolder.

Change the File Explorer view to one of the larger icon views

Hopefully you will see your custom icons.

Rename the files and copy them to your Library Icon folder.

I suggest copying them to a folder in your user directorys and using the Options - Package Folder to map them to your Library
