We have some staff that is color blind and would require the colors to be easier for them to see visually.  I am using MindManager 2017 (newest) and would hope this issue would have been something updated since the last question posed 4 years ago.

Can you clarify which colours you want to change in the Gantt chart?

The task colours are the same as those selected in the map and can be changed there. The at risk and overdue colours are also the same as those in the map and can be changed in the Calendar and display options on the Task Info Pane.

As far as I can tell there are only three elements in Gantt charts for which the colours cannot be changed:

  • Relationship line (black)
  • Critical path tasks highlight (blue shading)
  • Proportion of task completed (grey)

The last feature works in a complex way.  If the task has not been started (in other words, it is 0% complete) and has a colour assigned to it in the map, the bar for the task in the Gantt chart should show just this colour, unless the task is at risk or overdue.

On the other hand, if the task is at risk or overdue, then in both the map and the Gantt chart the colour should change accordingly. If the task is 0% complete, the bar in the Gantt chart should show just this colour. If however there has been some progress, the proportion of the task completed as indicated on the map by the progress marker will reflected in the proportion of the Gantt chart bar changing to a grey colour.

For example, if the task has been coloured blue, it is not at risk or overdue and 25% has been completed, then in the Gantt chart the first 25% of the bar will be grey and the rest will be blue. On the other hand if the task is overdue but is 25% completed, the first 25% of the Gantt chart bar will be grey and the rest will be light red (or whatever colour has been assigned to overdue tasks).

If the task is 100% complete then the progress marker for the task on the map will show a tick and will change to the colour assigned to completed tasks (the default is light green). Somewhat confusingly however, on the Gantt chart the completed task bar will still show as 100% grey.

In the visual of the gantt chart the lines are blue and red/pink.  we would like them to have the option to change these colors in the Gantt view for those who are visually impared.

Try this...
Go to Advanced Tab
Under Topic data you see Smart Fill.  Click on the twistie and you see  popup screen where you can change fill colours.
Clcik on the twistie next to a colour and you have more options.

Now this may apply only for the smart fill function,
But you may look for something similar in the Gantt Pro options in your MM Enterprise version.

Mindjet did not provide me with MM Enterprise... so I am guessing a bit ;-)

Please let us know if it works

Another option maybe:

Op the task pane at the right of your screen.

You will see (just uner dependencies) CALENDAR and DISPLAY Options.
Click on it and you see a screen coming up.

You can change the colours in Tasks due etc.

Here's an example where a different Task overdue highlight colour has been selected in the Calendar and Display Options, as suggested by Ary and me:

I agree however it's frustrating that even though the ability to highlight completed tasks with a user-defined colour has been added under Calendar and Display options, there is no option to choose the same colour to show the proportion of a task that's been completed in the Gantt view instead of the default blue/grey colour. This would be an easy feature to add.

On the other hand.... If your colleagues are colourblind, they will need to see the differences in the Map view just as much ;-)
So If you change it once, while in the map view, it will be improved in map AND gantt view
