How do I delete a project in the Mindjet Project Director?

Without having the function of deleting/archiving finished or cancelled projects, Project Director will soon become crowded and chaotic. So how to solve this basic functionality, which not to have included is a quite serious bug and disadvantage for existing or possible customers.

Did you try to right click on a project in the project listing? Did you find the Delete menu over there? Is it enabled?

I tried this indeed. The option is there, but it is grey and disabled.

Hmm, are you the owner of the account in which the project is located? Could it be that someone else is the admin or that you're using a reader account?

Hi everyone,

Projects currently cannot be deleted. The only solution available at the moment is to rename to Project to some such as 'Done - project name'.

Library folders however (under the Library tab) can be deleted.

This should be a reasonably easy fix to delete a project - even if you could only do it after deleting or moving all content.  Let me consolidate what I want to keep but my project directory can't continue to grow.

Well, that is a quite bug then. I can't really imagine why a system, which shall provide the potential for managing projects, programmes and portfolios is not calculating with the fact, that finished projects might have to be deleted or archived... Here are competitors like asana far ahead:-(

The other consideration to this is available storage space. You do not want to be paying extra fees for increased storage due to finished projects that are no longer required still residing within the system.

Exactly, Olympic, when projects had been done, they should be in structured manner archived and deleted from the active workspace. That are logical and basic functions of other project and task managers, so I cannot understand, why Mindjet did not take this into account...

Also, years on it is quite astounding that this is not resolved. Note that the status says 'acknowledged' and not 'under consideration' to being fixed!
