How to insert sketch-only note?

TL;DR: How to quickly create a node/topic without space for text (only sketch and tiny border)?

I use Mindmanager 16 in Pen Mode, and I love to do it in a visual way. I don't use text, I always draw a symbol instead of text. But I need to do a lot of steps:

  1. Insert a topic
  2. Switch to Mouse Mode to replace default text to single space (to reduce width of the topic)
  3. Switch  to Pen Mode
  4. Draw a sketch

How can I do it more quickly?

Did you try to use some of the Pen Gestures as outlined here? http://onlinehelp.mindjet.com/help/MJWin/11/ENU/get_started_with_pen_mode.htm

Yep. Still need to do the step 2: manually replace default text with single space  (to reduce width of the topic).

One suggestion that comes to mind is ... to skip your step 2 (and 3) until your map is ready.
Next select all topics and reduce the text to single space in one go

That could be a lot faster

Okay, maybe I'm not understanding your question correctly... why would you need to do step 2?
Normally in pen mode it's just two gestures:

 Insert subtopic

 Insert sketch

I can do it :) (Because I did by accident in an answer to another questions of yours)

Have no topics selected.
Make a sketch gesture near the topic you wish to be its parent.
A floating topic appears with no space for text.
Sketch and then drag to the lucky parent. Or vice versa.
