Could any1 help me how do we make a simple project map with dependency of an investment need to be made first thus the project can start taking place.

Simple way to say this:

I made a project map about buying a Bic Mac meal plan in mc Donald, thus includes from the logistics (transportation) till I finally eat the burger.
But this whole project map needs to have a $20 cash bill being placed into my wallet first, thus the project map could begin to take place. And if the there's delay in putting such $20 bill as needed, then it will affect the whole project map to be delayed (it starting point) as according to when the $20 bill is actually being put into my wallet.

is there a way to do this in mindjet manager ?

Yes, you can create dependencies in MindManager. Dependencies are special types of relationship that point from one task to the next, and usually mean that for planning purposes, the next task cannot start until the previous one is finished. (There are other types of dependency).

Then the first task in your project, on which all the others depend, would be placing $20 in your wallet.

To insert a dependency, click on the first task, then Control+Click on the second. Go to the Task Info pane and select one of the dependency types, and it will insert a dependency pointing from the first task to the second. If the date of the first task slips, then the second one will also slip.

Hi Nick,

Thanks for the prompt response and yes I well aware such dependencies function, but that dependencies function is made for tasks purposes, such in my case my transportation lodgistic task need to be taken place first thus I cannot start my Bic Mac ordering task (meaning: I need to get to mcdonald first before start ordering bicmac) and that includes time information (date start, date ends) what I meant was, is there any function that's specifically made for investment purposes as in my case. I mean having a $$$ put into my wallet doesn't really need a timeline really. I just need to thick, the money is in, thus the rest of the project can go on...

thanks in advance..

You have 4 Tasks ... Wallet filled, order Big Mac, Pay, Eat.

Hmm ... The wallet has to be filled before Pay . Order must happen before pay ... eat is after pay ...

you can add time line information as well ... you may have differences in duration and effort ...

it is your decision to go to mcd only after wallet is filled ... or hope someone brings you the money right in time before Pay ;-)

You could use Topic Properties and the AutoCalc & Formulas features to manage budgets in a project, define a budget value, and calculate the difference between the budget and total planned costs. Then the Smart Fill function could be used to highlight the topic if costs are greater than the budget, so you would get a visual indication of over-budget condition.
However there would not be any automatic constraint on tasks, i.e. it would not delay tasks if the required condition was not met. In this circumstance it would be worth considering "secure budget" as a task in your project, as it is a constraint that must be met.
