How to view two different maps at once?

I want to drag and drop topics from one map to another. I tried the SPLIT function to see two different maps at the same time, but Mindmanager divided the view of one map into two. Also I tried the ARRANGE option, but it didn't work. How can I see two different maps at the same time in Mindmanager (2018) interface?

If you are using MindManager on a single monitor, start MindManager in a window rather than full screen. Open up both maps, click on the tab for one map and simply drag it off the MM window. It should become a second window and you can then drag topics between the two maps.

If you have two monitors you can open MindManager full screen on one monitor and drag the second map to the other monitor.

There are a couple of limitations. You can't have more than two windows and the MM ribbon and toolbar stay on the first window, which is confusing.

Thanks Alex! This solves the issue, but an improvement for the next version of Mindmanager would be the possibility of spliting the main interface of the program with two (or more) different maps.

Hi Jorge,

i do fully agree with this request. Being on the road with my laptop frequently, this would be an ideal added feature.

It seems totally crazy that this doesn't work in MM2018.  I mean, this is a very very basic feature of windows and all windowed applications.  That the split screen splits the map, instead of allowing two side by side, is just stupid.  I've been trying to consolidate insight from one map into another... and its basically a nonsense workflow.  I'm really not sure why I upgraded to the latest version. How many iterations does it take to get something like this right?

I did a test on this subject.
It is possible to drag and drop topics from one map to another and have more screens open at the same time.
if you start 2 instances of the mindmanager software and open 1 map in the first and another in the second. You now have two active mindmanager apps working each in their own window.
You can select a topic keep your mouse button down and move you mouse to the other window and release it where you want it.

I have tested this with a MM 2017 and a MM2018 version open and it works fine.
( Since I train a lot I have about 8 different versions on my laptop with no problem.

Thanks Ary! I tried your suggestion, but I couldn't open a second instance of Mindmanager. When I try to start the second, the first comes up. What should I do to start a second instance of Mindmanager?

Jorge I think you need to have two versions of MindManager installed, for example MM2017 and MM2018.
