Mindjet Files will not work with MindManager 8

If you can get the Android app to save in another Cloud store e.g Dropbox you can then edit them in MindManager 8.

Hi Andrew...

Thanks for the idea but the Android Mindjet app only saves to their cloud space.

I upgraded my version to the latest and this solved the problem as it it is now an option. Very handy.

Hi Greg, for future reference, the Android app will save to the following:

•Mindjet Files
•Local (Device)
•Dropbox
•Box

You can access these options by going to Settings>Storage>Other

Using the Android Mindjet Maps application I see NO way to save a mindmap locally (to the Android device). And the app crashes when attempting to open the mm files I transferred.

Hi Roger,

Are you opening the maps from an internal file viewer (Astro, 'My Files', etc.), or from the Maps app?

I see the crash when I attempt the former. My suggestion is to open the MJ Maps app, open the settings menu, select 'Other' under Storage, check the 'Device' option, then change the 'Default Folder' to the folder where you're storing maps. Let me know if that works!

Jonathan,
YES. That does work. It took me a long time to figure out how to get a folder recognized and then place MY map in it. I created on using the app and created a folder, then I could actually find that map and added my real one in there. So until the fix the bug, this will work fine. THANKS!

Hey Roger,

Try installing the updated version of the app. Should be able to open the maps from the device file system now!

I don't see the updated app anywhere....I've been running version 3.6 for awhile. This appears to be the same version on the website and in the Google Play Store.

It's still version 3.6, we released a patch. The date on the app store should read "May 13, 2013"

Re-downloaded version 3.6 from Play Store and re-installed. No difference. Still crashes on indirect open, works on direct open. Regards, Roger

Yes, now it is dated 5/15 and is designated as an update. Yesterday it was NOT designated as an update. It must have been moved over very recently. And YES it now works correctly opening from 3rd party application. Good show and thanks a lot!
