How can I print each topic on it's own page?

I have been a Mind Manager for years and the one thing that frustrates me is the lack of ability to easily print a large map out to multiple pages (in a .pdf). I know that I can print a map out on multiple pages that I can then post to the wall, but I don't want to do that. I want to be able to print a map and have each page only contain a main topic and its adjoining subtopics.

For example, I have 5 topics, I could hit a print option that would allow me to print (or export to .pdf) each topic and its supporting detail on the one page. I would end up with a .pdf file that contains 5 pages. Then I could add front page table of contents (front page that was a print of the central topics and 5 main topics listed).

Currently, I have to print each topic separately and then join them together. This can be time consuming and frustrating.

Am I missing something? Does it have this capability?

Thanks

Craig

Simple - create a slide for each topic you want to print, then print the slides. You can choose to print all the slides, a range or a single slide. The result will be a single printed document or PDF containing the selected slides.

Cool! Not a feature I had thought of using for printing purposes. Thanks!

Thanks. There are a few tricks you can play around with. The first is if you are having problems trying to create a slide for a topic with lots of subtopics and branches that won't fit in the slide.

Unfortunately, while you can move the slide frame around you can't change its size relative to the topic or vice versa. However you can create two or more slides for a single topic, so you could create one slide for the top half of the subtopics and a second for the bottom half (bearing in mind there could be some overlap).

Another way to deal with this is to use Windows' snipping tool instead of slides. Use the tool to take a snapshot of each topic, or group of topics, then switch to a Word document and paste the images with one each to a page. Obviously this is a little more complex than the slide printing tool but you get more control over the resulting content.

You can also use the snipping tool with the Walk Through facility to grab an image of a highlighted topic or subtopic, with the surrounding topics visible but greyed out. Personally I like the look of this, but for sheer ease of use you can't go past just using MindManager's ability to print slides.

It worked out OK. I would like to see Mindjet include an option to simply click a button and allow each topic to be printed on a different page. But for now, the slides will do.

Thanks again.
