How can I reformat my map so it is more balanced?

Hi, I am having trouble re-locating the topics so that they are even on both sides of the main topic rather than all lined up on the right side. Clicking and dragging is very imprecise. The topics don't go to where I want them to go and then the branch lines also disappear and I can't put them back on.

Look for the 'Balance Map' button in the ribbon. That should help organize your map so they are even on both sides of the main topic.

Also try dragging a main topic by its main topic handle (little circle on the inner edge at the line - topic junction). When you move a main topic with this you can change its relative position to the central topic and use it to "push" an adjacent main topic up or down. Balancing the map will restore the default positioning and reset the moved main topic handles from black filled to clear..
