How do I search for text in multiple mindmap files?

Say I have 50 Mindjet mind maps in a folder. How can I search for a text string (e.g., "TOGAF") and identify the mindmaps in which this text string appears?

It seems as if text is not natively searchable in Mindjet files. Is this true?

Use the Search tab on the (normally) right hand side work tabs.

This will search all maps on your PC if required and give links to each topic containing the text.

Unfortunately I cannot get the Windows 7 search tool cannot see inside the .mmap files. The text is inside an .xml file zipped up inside the .mmap file.

Thanks, Andrew! Hmm. Not where I would normally expect to find it, but it works fine for me.

I am using Win 7 and managed to get this to work to look inside .mmap files as you suggested.

.xml "zipped" inside .mmap? Why "zipped", one wonders?

If you make a copy of a MindManager file and change the extension to .zip and look inside. You will see what I mean.

Must go back and try harder with Windows 7.
