If I understand you correct you wish to do like shown in my image


You can do  that if you select the main topic and then select boundary (I choose the accolade)
You cannot do this on the central topic.

Nice idea but not possible as shown with MindManager.
You can achieve something similar by inserting a "dummy/empty" parent topic for for 2,3,4 & 5 and similarly for 5 & 6. Then insert a bracket boundary on the parent topic.

No, The solution that Andrew gave satisfied us all.

However, If you only need a visual boundary that is not intelligent, e.g. does not in-decrease with the number of topics. Than you can draw these at the background level in MM2020
