How to filter using custom properties?

In Mind Manager 2012 I'm looking at using the Power Filter to filter nodes based on some of the custom properties that have been defined. However, it looks like filtering will only apply on built-in properties. Am I missing something, or is there any chance something like this is in the works?

Hello Jesse

I don't think there is a built-in function for this, but it is a great suggestion. I would recommend changing it to an Idea so that Mindjet can consider it.

In the meantime, it would be possible to create a script that exported custom properties to tag markers so that they could be used to filter and index the map. This would not be an ideal solution, though.

Are you using custom properties for something that cannot be done with tag markers?

Thanks for the suggestion. It does look like I could convert each custom property to a tag group. Using a script is a good idea, as I could still use custom properties to edit/create the information, and export to tags when ready to filter.
