How to insert image from disk, from a folder not in my "My Pictures" library in Windows?

I do a lot of "insert image from library", using jpg files on my desktop computer. Unfortunately, it looks like the "Library - Images" sidebar only shows me folders from my "Pictures" Library in Windows? No other folders on my desktop are visible? I have images in folders outside of this that I want to be able to easily access. And the images in those folders keep changing, so I want to be able to access the *folder*, not just copying over a static list of copies of existing images.

I know I can click on "Add Image" on the sidebar, and navigate painstakingly to find such photos one by one. But it'd be a lot easier if I could just add my own folders to the "Library - Images" sidebar. Is this possible?

You can add your own folders in the library pane, by using Package folders.
Go to File>Options and select Package Folders.
Click on New.
Fill in a name, select the folder, select 'images' as resource type and click OK.
The link to the folder is now added in the library.
