Hi All

Encountered an issue with Mindjet MindManager 16 . The drag and drop hyperlink feature has stopped working .
I have uninstalled and reinstalled.
Running latest 32/64  MM 16 build
Office 2016
Windows 10

See the link with a video on the issue .

Anyone else encountered this issue and a solution?

Thanks Patrick

Hi Patrick

I can with:

Chrome: Drag and drop the favicon in the URL bar to the map and text links on the page to the map. Images with links drop a link to the image file.

Edge: Nothing works. The favicons are missing in the URL bar.

Internet Explorer: Favicon drag works. Links on page don't. (I think in the past I have got this working by tweaking the IE settings. I think you have to disable a level of security). The Send to MindManager Add In is installed, enabled and visble on the command bar with the new logo but doesn't work.

Hi Patrick and Andrew,

My experiences are broadly similar to Andrew's (I'm using MM 16 with Windows 7 and Office 2010):

Internet Explorer: Similar to Andrew - favicon drag and drop works but links on page don't.

Chrome: favicon drag works. Dragging text and images on page works but the latter are given the name of the image file with the link attached.

Firefox: favicon drag works, text drag works and with images you are given the choice of Add as Link, Add as Attached File or Add as Image - which all work.

In internet Explorer I have - Tool - Internet Options - Security - Disable Protected Mode.

I can now drag and drop plain text links and links on images to the map but not links on clickable image maps created by MindManager :(

Hi Andrew/ Alex

This is not the issue -  Drag and drop works fine in MM 15 but not 16 - I have uninstalled , deleted all registry keys to see if this was the problem , even reinstalled Office 16 -  For  some reason this function is disabled in MindManager 16. I've tried all the known hacks such as setting the security level settings with no result.

This one has got me totally stumped. I am looking at user privilege settings between MindManager 16 and Outlook as I have a sneaky suspicion that this might be the culprit in MindManager 16

I am able to replicate this behavior on my machine Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

* Mindjet 2016  16 64 bit has the issue but Mindjet 2016 32 bit works.

* Both versions of Mindjet 15 (64bit and 32bit) work just fine.

One observation is that I was able to get Mindjet 2016  64bit to work fine when the computer is in safe Mode so its indicating that something on the full system startup is impacting it. A collegue has a similar system to mine and 2016 64bit works on that machine. We just need to figure out what is impacting it.

I will keep you posted.

Hi David

Thank you for the prompt reply and workaround. Installed the 32 bit and  MindManager 16 drag and drop working as it should .

Can you please let me know when you have a solution as to why this is occurring.

Best regards

Patrick
