I cannot export to Word - Initialising Microsoft Word does nothing then Server Busy switch to and then all is frozen

First suggestion...
Download a trial MindManager 2018,
Open your map,
Try and export to MS Word and see what happens.

I have MM15. I paid a subscription renewal for MM Plus which only expires 9/10/2018, so dont want extra expense of MM2018. I urgently need this sorted as I am on a client deadline

Second suggestion,...
Take care that all your software is on the same 32- or 64-bit level
So your OS as well as your MSWord as well as your MIndmanager version.

Everything was working up until approx a week ago without any problems - nothing on my laptop changed

If you have a paid subscription for MM Plus which only expires 9/10/2018 you don't need to spend extra.
You are entitled to get a key for MM2018 as part of that subscription.

I would get that asap since you are on a client deadline

And ofcourse... I just tried to export to MS Word and it works fine with me. So the cause of your problem must be outside MindManager 2018

I got a key with the subscription renewal - perhaps that is the problem. Do I have to reinsert / reload it somewhere. Can you talk me through it? Can we communicate off the public forum, please?

Since you are on a deadline go to Mindjet Support immediately they should be able to help you best.

Rene, if you need a quick export of your map to Word you can also send it to mathieu@ahacoaching.nl so I can do it for you. Just make sure you save the map after trying to start a Word export so your specific Word-export settings (if any) will be saved in the map file and they will be used for my export as well.

There shouldn't be a relation between your Mindjet subscription and the Word export, when a subscription license expires you will notice that the whole MindManager app will roll back to read-only completely.

Did you try to export a new blank map to Word to see if the problem has to with some content in your mindmap or with the connection between Word and Mindmanager? 'Server Busy' usually means that something in the background is taking too long or is not responding, a restart of Windows might help to clear all background services.

Thank you Mathieu! I have e-mailed you. The problem still persists! It won't Initialize Word at all, in spite of the corrective steps mentioned. What else could it be?

Have been in contact with Rene and he figured out how to solve this issue:

We managed to fix the export problem after nearly 4 days of trying different things. We disabled a Word add in called ‘abDocs Word add in’ that is an Acer specific add in!!! Don’t understand why it suddenly started interfering! Anyway, I am finally free and able to export : )
