My company wants to buy 17 licenses, we want desktop licenses that has a normal (not yearly based) licensing scheme, please advice.
Online version is good but we are not that much interested on it as we have alot of web & file sharing policy.

Hi Jamil

From what I understand the super-intelligent new business-model of MindJet, you do get a desktop license for your computers to download, so you're not going to be working on the servers of MindJet (as it is e.g. with Office 365).

The main thing that changes are your payment terms. You pay a full year's "monthly" fee in advance and therefore obtain the "right" to use your desktop version for a year. After twelve months you have to pay for another year in advance (it's sort of like licensing it completely new).

But what if you cancel your subscription in time? My judgement: You will keep your desktop licence in full working condition on your desktop but will not be eligible for upgrades anymore.

This is how I understand the new business model. Please double-check with your local provider and/or Mindjet - and let us know.

Best, Marco

Hi Marco. Thank you for your post. If you have the Mindjet subscription and choose not to renew next year (or when the license expires), you can no longer keep the licenses under our standard terms.

I wonder how many customers you have lost or will lose when they try to add more licenses. We are looking around at 3rd parties who offer a perpetual license because our IT department policy is not to purchase client side subscription based licensing. Why did Mindjet move off of offering a perpetual license model? That's just shooting yourself in the foot.

Part 1:
Can anybody from Mind manager confirm that?

Part 2: for (Marco Gruber)
So the license key will still be valid for my desktop version for ever regardelss of continue paying after 1 year.
You know sometimes you format your machine for any reason, if that happens; I can re-use my key again anytime inspite that fact that I just just paid for the first year.

I don't think your Mindjet software will continue working if you start paying your subscription. But this should be ask to Mindjet. We are still waiting for their reply.

Thanks. But I think this Minjet 11 is for Windows, isn't it? I'm under Mac.
Could you summarize the features of this version (compared to Mindjet 12)?
And tell us the price.

Best regards,

Pierre
