I would like to cancel my account

Can you outline for everyone the process necessary to cancel an account and if there are any special requirements to ensure it does not renew on it's next renewal date?

I just want to underline that it is really ridiculous and unethical to not allow people cancel their accounts directly in the UI. In addition, you don't clearly inform about this "contact our support" process on the account page. I really look down on this kind of "service".

I am not happy with your policy on cancellation and was not aware that my account would be automatically renewed. Not having a clear indication on your website of how to cancel creates a bad image of your company and I feel constitutes sharp practice! I like the product but not this practice.

I did not have much use for the product, so until now the opinion I had about Mindjet was only based on good reviews by colleagues who used it more. But now when I wanted to close the account and stop the subscription (after receiving email about auto-renewal), and not finding an option to do so in the web UI, I feel simply cheated. There's nothing complicated to this, I just want out, there is no need for email, auto-reply, promise of getting back within two business days. 

I'm sorry you have to resort to this, I hope it at least serves your business. And I hope people who dislike this kind of business / contract model find a word of warning in time.

Mindjet customer service response to my request was fast (19h minus time difference), they wrote to ask me to confirm if I have removed all data from their servers. Haven't replied yet, wanted to post this comment first, just in case access to this forum is connected to the Mindjet account. So in case you are in the situation where I was yesterday, don't worry, just write them as instructed, and things may quickly turn out well (we'll see in a minute...).

No problem whatsoever in the cancellation process. Quite impressive was that I didn't even ask for refund for the latest auto renewal, but the customer service agent did it out of her own initiative (thanks Marian!), and the refund arrived promptly. At this point I must say I feel a bit embarrassed about being so aggravated because of a lack of a UI button :)
