Import of a word document into a mindmanager document.

I am trying to import a word document (microsoft word for mac, version 16.12) into a mindmanager document (Version 11.0.143). It does not work.

The word text is imported as a note, not as a map.

I have formated the word text as headings (as suggested). It does not make any difference.

I have to admit that former versions of MindManager were able to do this job.

Very dissapointing.

Has anybody got an idea?

You need to create the document in outline view in word and then promote and demote the topic items before saving in outline view mode. The import generally works ok, but sometimes gets the odd one wrong.

I don't understand your reply Tildy
I have tried to export to Word a map. It worked perfectly. I have tried to import that Word document (without any change) to MindManager 11 : all the informations are under a note...
I don't understand why.

Hello Tildy, thanks for suggesting a solution. I ́m afraid, I do not understand it either. What is "outline view in word"? What do you mean with "promote and demote the topic"? I would be thankful for further explanations.

MindManager can only import word documents that - have a structure - .If not, the whole document is placed in a topic note (as you see)
A structure in a word document means that you use headings and sub headings etc. So that you can create an index page. When that is ok, you can import the word doc and it divides the content across the headings-topics as you would expect.

Thank you Ary for your answer.
It still doesn't explain why exporting a map to Word, and reimporting this same Word document to MindManager doesn't work...

Agreed.. It does work fine in the MS Windows version,...Best way to get an answer / improvement on that is via MIndjet support (mindjet.com website and use your free mindjet id) with a reference to this fourm discussion

Yes but... I was just testing MindManager 11. I am currently using Mindview. My conclusion is that I will not buy MM 11. Thank you for your answers.
