Is there anyone who can tell me why I cannot import a project plan made in Ms Project 2007 to MindManager.

When I click on File and Import, are only MPX Import available.
Under Options, I see that there is an Add-ins called "Microsoft Project Import and Export (v10.0.493). This is enabled but the feature is not available in the Import function.
Is it only possible to import mpx files (based on MS Project Exchange)?

I think the add in only works if you have MSP installed on the same PC as MindManager.

If you have MSP installed try running a repair on MindManager.

Yes that's right, I installed MindManager on a different computer where MSP is installed and then I got access to the right Add-ins for the MSP.
This means that you can not prepare a project in a computer and send a file to a colleague unless both these programs are installed on his computer.
It makes me a little disappointed but anyway - it's good to know.
Thanks for your help, it saved me a lot of time and ended my frustration.
