MindManager is licensed per person not per machine.
Everyone who want to create or edit maps needs a license

There is the MindManager Enterprise License option if you want to purchase five or more licences. Not sure how much you save however. https://www.mindjet.com/en/pages/special-license-programs/mindmanager-enterprise-license-program/

Andreas and Alex are right in their response.
In order to create maps, you need a license and No concurrent use is allowed.

And also an enterprise version still no concurrent use is allowed and you have obligatory MSA (yearly upgrade protection etc.) that includes READER rights to other users in your company at no extra cost.
You need the optional Co-editing to allow other users to edit as well.

However, If you have ONE license with yearly MMUP AND CO-Editing, you can have One person create  a map and invite the 5 others to co-edit via browser and those 5 do not need their own license.

Details about co-edting and demo video's can be found at MIndjet.com website.

A good workaround is a team approach. You don't want to enter uncontrolled garbage into a mindmap. Instead you can use any sharing platform and the one license owner acts as the facilitator who enters the content in a moderated way. This way idea exchange happens live, qualified ideas get into the map, and you only need one license. Mindmanager is the perfect product to be used that way.
P.S.: The alternative would be expensive and a huge effort to clean-up each map.

Hello Ivan

Our valued community contributors are very correct. The first thing you want to do is figure out how you want to team using MindManager...
  • Does everyone need the ability to edit their own or team maps?
  • Is there a structure you want to follow for data capture, analysis and actioning?
  • What is the typical environment for your teaming?
  • Do you typically update information as a team gathered together or individually?
  • etc.
I think that will go a long way to identify the setup and # licences you need. And Alex is quite right that there are volume discounts for Enterprise purchases. We can connect you to a sales rep if that is what you are interested in.

There are lots of options right now for collaboration and more coming in the future. We can help you figure out an optimal team setup if you like. I can be contacted directly at balir.young@mindmanager.com and the community is a great resource. The MindManager community members are very open to comment and help guide.

Cheers... Blair
