install mindmanager 8 on windows 7

That looks logical to me.
You have a 64 bit WIndows 7 OS and try to install a mindmanager version that was released in the early days of XP.

If you have plenty of time and Systems Admin knowledge.....You can try to download the necessary c++ 2005 software and install it, although I expect that it will cause other problems.

If not, consider the upgrde to MM 15 64 bit version. It will cost you approx the average hourly rate of a good consultant.

Not sure if this is going to work, but you could try to install the 32-bit Visual C++ runtime yourself before installing MindManager 8: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=3387

However, as Ary noted, there is no support from Mindjet for this installation.
