I want to create a branch with the title "current date: <date today>"

Example: Current date: 23.12.2014

Is this possible?

In MM for windows

Go to => InsertTab => Topic elements => Date & Time
you can adjust the date/time and layout.

The topic (you call it branch ?) now has the name of the date .

For that you can add a property to the topic with the name e.g. Date and select today

Hi Andreas

I think Ary's property solution is still a static result i.e tomorrow that property will say 23/12/2014.

So just in case without testing this by changing the date on my PC, the following solution seems to be dynamic.

Insert a Spreadsheet (Advanced ribbon - Spreadsheet).
Select the Now and/or Today function under the sum sign Ʃ

The Now value does not update every minute automatically. You have to either view another map and return or click into the spreadsheet or open and close the map.  The F5 button does not refresh them.  But it does indicate that if you open the map tomorrow it will have the current date and time.

You can save any of these solutions as a map part. Then you can reuse them easily on other maps.

Checked my -solution- Andrew is right.
It is still static info. I would love to have it dynamic here as well. THIS SHOULD BE AN IDEA

As an alternative to Andrews Excel solution, you could also consider to gather the current date from some kind of database using the database linker, It has the same disadvantage though.
