Is there a way to filter topics including their subtopics (child topics)?

When I use a filter to show certain topics, there should be a way to retain subtopics.
For example right now I have a number of topics describing Problems my clients have. The topics have subtopics describing the problem, solutions proposed and reasons they were rejected, Tasks (e.g. talk to colleague X, get time estimate on Y etc.). If I filter the Problems, by subject e.g. stock management (tag on problem topic), I lose all of the information in the subtopics. I often have to refrain from using filters and manually colapse or hide topics because of this.
Anyone out there who has dealt with this Problem?

There is a Power Filter Options in the Power Filter dialogue box. Click on this and untick Results display exact matches. The subtopics of any topics that match the filter criteria should then appear under the matching topics, regardless of whether the subtopics match the criteria themselves.

Interestingly there is also an option to set this under Filter in the Options menu under File, but this didn't seem to have an effect when I tried it.

Thank you so much, this is exactly what I wanted. In fact, when I set it in the File/Options it works for the "Show" filter so I can even use it with selection.

Thanks - I'm glad it was a success.

I'm also interested that it also worked for you under File/Options - something else I'll have to check out when I return from leave!
