Is there any way to export the images that I attached to a mind map? What format are they stored in within the file?

How can I export the images contained in topics of a mind map?
If there is no way to do this using MindManager, what is the format used to store these images?
If I open the xml version of mindmap I see them under the label <ap:AlternateImages ImageType="urn:mindjet:PngImage">
I take it that this is a PNG format encoded using base64, I just tried the decoding using http://www.freeformatter.com/base64-encoder.html and it worked -less the transparency information

Is this the only encoding option?

Did a quick check with multiple images formats in one map, and it looks like MindManager is encoding all the images to PNG internally and storing them in the XML

You can export them to a Word document using the WordX add-in from Olympic Limited: http://www.olympic-limited.co.uk/product/wordx/ though the layout of the resulting document can be a little odd especially if there are multiple images . It probably works best for topics with an image only and no text.

Another Olympic add-in, MAP, allows you to export topics identified as slides in MM as images (or PowerPoint slides) though the resolution isn't very high. To get higher quality image exports you can "print" the slides using a virtual image printer.

If you just want the image exported using either of these approaches you will have to remove all topic formatting such as line and fill colour as well as any text. It may be best to store images in the first place as an unformatted subtopic which is attached to a formatted topic with any text required if you later want to export these images using either of these methods.
