Hi,
I use mindjet to takes notes for school. Since I share notes with others, and I like to have easy access to them, I would like an easier way to share my maps. For example, I would like to embed my mindmaps into my website. Is this possible?

Ideally the maps would be in a view only mode, but could be scrollable and expandable.

I very much dislike the idea of having to sign up / log in for a service in order to view the mindmaps. As much as I like the software, if using the "connect" function via the web is the only way to view them from now on, I will go back to the old fashioned (and boring) way of note taking.

I just read that there won't be any exporting features til March? I have over 20 mmaps of notes waiting. Will there be an option to save as a picture at least soon?

I really liked the update with tagging and picture inserts, but taking away the exporting to .jpg or text was a step backwards.

With the desktop application you can export images, clickable image maps and a Flash file which behaves as you have described. These can be embedded in a web page.

Andrew is right. You can export maps. The functionality that you read about that is due to come out in March is related to how the map looks when it is exported. I hope that this helps to clear any confusion up. Please let me know if you have additional questions. Thank you!

I can't find a way to embed a map into word either. If I chose Insert Object in word it just puts an icon there not matter what options I choose.

I exported but it was all text over many pages, not the picture. I've given up and just put a png into my document. I wanted it to embed like so many other applications can.

Just a suggestion, I used the export to web pages option, to share a dashboard.
there are different templates and you can be as complex as you want... need to do a little experimenting.
If i understand your requirement, you may wish to start with the presentation template
Export to web pages >> select template >> Presentation >>choose one of the colour schemes..
it may work for you??

Although I'm simply an amateur, I saw these and did play. My objective is to have it work like a linked, embedded excel, ppt or visio doc. See the latest copy always, click on it to edit the original. If I can't do that then the point in time png is what I get.

I've not tried embedding a web page like Mick suggested and will try that next.

- you can set up a hyperlink on a topic/subtopic to to any file, and just refresh that file in the same place, same name.
- those hyperlinks are copied over if you export to a web page
- or.. you can use the file explorer under MAP PARTS (on the side bar) to point to a folder and just refresh it when you change the files (shift f5). that works but you get a standard format, so not so easy to make it look pretty. very easy and convenient depends if you are sharing or just using it to organise your own stuff

Thanks for all these details, but sorry, I don't understand at all. I want to embed a map into Word. I'm not looking to have a hyperlink to a map. Sorry, I must just be daft.

Looks like there is not an easy and elegant way to do it at this point.
