Is there a way to get back to my normal working view? (setting an anchor type of operation)

Is there a way of anchoring a view of the map so you can easily hot-key back to it? If I arrange the map in the window so I can see things of importance to me, I would like to somehow mark this as a place I want to refer back to easily. This would be helpful if you are in a different section of the map and want to get back to your normal view/position on the map. I find that I am constantly moving the map back to a working position after I do searches, etc that brink me to a different section of the map.

One other off topic question -- what software are you using for the forum? I'm looking for something similar for my company.

Hi Gary, I've created a floating topic in my maps that have branches that link to different parts of my large map. Then, I also link the specified topics to the floating topic. It acts like an interactive table of contents. I can get anywhere with a couple of clicks. Hope that helps.

Hi Michael, thanks for the reply .. I will give it a try. I suspect that I'm not explaining things correctly though.

This might help explain my question a bit better. Suppose you move the map over by an inch and wanted to get back without have to grab and drag the map back to it's original place. It would be nice to have the concept of an anchor point that you can mark and get back to with a hot key. I find that I'm doing a lot of grab and drop movement on the map and it would be convenient of a better way.

Thanks for the clarification. That's not possible to my knowledge, yet! I'll shift this question into an idea so we can queue it up for future evaluation.

Ctrl+Home will take you the central topic from any place in the map.

It also works well to mark topics with an icon as a "favourite topic" marker, and then go to the Marker Index task pane, where you will see all your favourites listed together and can go to any of them in one click.
